3 Immune Boosting Tips

1. Don't Worry, Be Cautious

  • Prolonged worry and stress weakens the immune system making us more susceptible to viruses and other illnesses.

  • Limit the amount of time you spend watching the news and reading about it on the internet.

2. Eat Immune Boosting Foods

  • Focus on healthy, whole foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and seafood like wild-caught salmon.

  • Limit your intake of sugar.

  • Try to consume foods high in zinc, such as eggs, nuts, legumes, and shellfish. This valuable mineral increases the production of white blood cells which fight infection.

  • Eat more garlic - This flavorful member of the onion family stimulates the multiplication of infection-fighting white blood cells.

  • Vitamin C increases the amount of infection-fighting white blood cells and antibodies in your body. The Vitamin C foods that boost your immune system best are guava, papaya, strawberries, kiwi, cantaloupe, orange, and grapefruit.

3. Move more, sit less

  • Research shows that more movement kicks the immune system into gear.

  • Exercise reduces levels of the body's stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. It also stimulates the production of endorphins, chemicals in the brain that are the body's natural painkillers and mood elevators.

  • Aim for at least 20-30 minutes of walking each day.

Remember, we still have control over how we respond to our current circumstances and we have the ability to preload our body to stay healthy now and in the future.
